I generally avoid taking about my childhood. That’s largely because I have very few memories of it. I remember perhaps 5% of my childhood before my parents divorced, around the time I turned 10.
I will be having a colonoscopy tomorrow. If you’ve ever had one, you know what “colon prep” means in that context. Here’s a hint: It is not fun. Yes, the rest might be TMI.
I predicted that Texas would block gender change on birth certificates a few days ago. On 27-August, the news broke that they were no longer accepting court orders for drivers license gender change.
In Georgia, to avoid this issue, I habitually voted by mail. In that state, you don’t need an excuse like being out of state, etc. Texas, when I last voted there, you did need such an excuse.
Today has been rough already, and it’s early afternoon. I didn’t sleep well. I was in bed from about 10pm until 7am. My sleep score (Samsung Health) was only 70. So barely a “C”, as it were.
About a week ago, it came to my attention that the Attorney General of Texas has ordered the Department of Public Safety to stop accepting court orders for gender marker change on a drivers license. I first saw the linked report from Erin Reed on her substack on 22-August-2024.
