Hope and Resilience: A Trans Elder’s Journey
31 MarIt’s been a while. I’ve been laying low, but on this day, I will peek out from my hidey-hole for just a moment.
Continue readingThe Threat to Same-Sex Marriage: A Cautionary Tale
28 SepI have said repeatedly to the LGB who chose not to support transgender people that: “You’re next. They will come for same-sex marriage.” But Cassandra is doomed to never be believed.

24 SepEvery time there’s a mass shooting in the US, my trans friends and I hold our collective breath. If the shooter turns out to be trans, it could signal the final days of our human rights in a country that is supposed to be a shining beacon on the hill for freedom. Trans people are rarely responsible for these mass shootings, but it does sometimes happen. There are disturbed people in every demographic, of course, but conservative white men are responsible for the overwhelming majority of mass shootings.

Before twenty-five of our closest friends, we declared our love for one another, now and for the rest of our lives. Handfasting is a Pagan tradition. Jenni and I are both Pagan, though from somewhat different traditions.

20 JunThis is beyond the pale. Missouri plans to use gender-affirming care (GAC) for minors to overturn the hard-won right of abortion for women in Missouri. Citizens approved a constitutional right to reproductive freedom in November of last year. The far-right legislature thinks they’ve found a way to hurt trans people and overturn that right in one fell swoop.
Departing sharply from Maine’s support of trans people, Missouri’s state congress is making moves to harm trans people and pregnant people!
[…]
The marrying of prohibition on GAC and repealing of abortion rights is, undeniably, an attempt to push fence sitters into agreeing to a measure they might not typically approve of. Amendment 3 won by the narrowest of margins, and ensuring that those who oppose these life-saving treatments for trans kids must also tacitly bless an abortion ban is transparent political maneuvering of the nastiest kind.
Read the article. I just don’t have the spoons to deal with this today.
