Very much worth noting, The National Hurricane Center is part of NOAA, and as such, is one of the resources that Project 2025 would eliminate. Vote for Harris. Please.
Windows in School Restrooms: A Controversial Decision
7 OctYes, you read that correctly. A school board in SW Pennsylvania spent money to cut windows into student bathrooms so that passersby could look into the so-called “gender-identity” bathrooms. As you might imagine, that didn’t go over well.

3 OctIt doesn’t seem possible, but it is true. Being trans in Texas is likely about to get even worse.

Continue readingUS Healthcare Ranks Dead Last
21 SepA recent article in The Guardian is headlined “US health system ranks last compared with peer nations, report finds”. I won’t link to that article, as I don’t like to give clicks to that largely transphobic media source.

Continue readingTrump’s Mental Decline
19 SepFor months now, since well before the mainstream media flipped out over the poor debate performance by President Biden, I’ve seen strong evidence that Trump is in the early stages of dementia. I’m not a doctor, but I think this is clear to anyone who has ever watched the decline of an elderly loved one.
A claim by Donald Trump on Fox News that the crowd who attended the debate between himself and Vice President Kamala Harris “went absolutely crazy” when he was fact-checked led to both amusement and new questions about his mental decline on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” on Thursday.
The big issue? There was no crowd.
Trump’s new claim about debate raises fresh questions about his mental health – Raw Story
There was no crowd. No one was there except for Trump, Harris, the two moderators, and whatever stage hands were there to handle the televising of the debate. That was ten days ago. And “the crowd went absolutely crazy” when the moderators fact-checked him?
Seriously, it’s time for Trump to move to a memory care facility. The man is in trouble. And if he ever gets his hands on the nuclear codes, so is the world. Never mind what he has promised to do to immigrants and trans people. Or the danger he represents to women’s reproductive health. Or Project 2025.
Please, ensure you are registered to vote. And vote like your life, and those of anyone you care about, hang in the balance. Because they do.
Do you have her back?
13 Sep
With thanks to Ali at Scottie’s Playtime. I am absolutely with her. I was with Biden too, even as I began to wonder if he was up to the task at hand. Right now, nothing in the US political realm is more important than stopping the authoritarian, would-be dictator and his theocratic minions.
Minorities, and indeed our very democracy, are at severe risk if that man ever sets foot again in the White House. Minorities such as BIPOC, immigrants, and LGBTQ are (rightly) concerned about concentration camps. I’ve said before that I see the United States as on the threshold of a repeat of 1933 Germany. I truly do not see that as hyperbole.
Vote as if your life, and that of people you care about, are on the line. Vote as if our very democracy is on the line. Because they are.
The journey continues, at least for now.
