End the lies, take action

14 May

From EndTheLies.org:

Have you noticed that these days, since it’s no longer acceptable to say openly that you’re against gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender equality, extremists are resorting to lies and fear tactics?

The radical right says hate crimes laws will “silence people of faith” and put pastors in jail. Newt Gingrich warned on Fox News that a “gay and secular fascism in this country that wants to impose its will on the rest of us, is prepared to use violence…” Pat Boone called pro-equality protesters “sexual jihadists” similar to terrorists. They’ve taken out full-page ads in national papers and blanketed the talk shows.

We can’t let these lies go unanswered, especially now that we have a chance to make real progress on LGBT equality.

EndTheLies.org is a new website showing some of the worst offenders.

I just signed their petition to stand up for truth and equality. Will you take a moment and join me?

[TG] New journal created for Janet Anne

4 May

I’ve decided that Janet needs her own journal, where she can post openly without worrying about using the right filters, or being found out by the wrong persons. To that end, you can find me on Dreamwidth at janetanne, with profile here.

Feel free to drop by and introduce yourself. You can login to DW using your LJ or IJ OpenID for now. When I get some invite codes, I’d welcome any of you to come over here as well. Janet won’t be posting to LJ or IJ much. Just too much hassle with trying to filter content.

BTW: Ernie/Janet is also into BDSM, so just know you may find something about that there as well.

I’m on Dreamwidth

3 May

My account name is the same on both LJ and dreamwidth. The link to me on DW is http://wyldraven.dreamwidth.org/ and my profile is located at http://wyldraven.dreamwidth.org/profile. So, if you are on DW as well, feel free to subscribe, and do give me access to read your stuff as well! I probably won’t be posting a lot (you may have noticed I’ve been pretty quiet on LJ lately).

[Kink] Collared slave

20 Apr

This past Saturday, I was given my first collar. Mistress Mae (lasarina) has accepted me as her slave. This has made me extremely happy. I am pleased to serve her, as I always have and always will. She is now presenting me to the BDSM community as her property. That’s the thing that has changed, but it is a very significant change, as anyone familiar with this knows.

If you can see this, you are on a new friends filter for discussion of BDSM topics. If you don’t want to see anything on that topic, let me know.

[TG Filter] Breast enlargement

16 Apr

You know, I have read all that stuff that tells GGs (Genetic Girls) that breast enlargement products don’t work. Ever. None of them do anything, and are all a waste of money. Perhaps for GGs that’s true. I have now confirmed that taking phyto-estrogens does work for me. Yep, that’s right. I’ve been taking Saw Palmetto for over a month, and I can say without a doubt that my bust has enlarged. I’ve gone from full A (left) / almost B (right) to almost B / full B. I’m now adding fenugreek and a couple of more herbs (see Nature’s Bounty Breast Solutions) to my regimen. I’ll keep you informed as I see further changes.

Finally, we are hearing some truth from politicians…

Drug-fueled madness! | Salon
Our nation’s narcotics policy, that is. But there’s good news as Hillary Clinton and Sen. Jim Webb take baby steps toward sanity.

[…] Though President Barack Obama childishly laughed at a question about legalization during his recent town hall meeting, his government implicitly admits that marijuana is safer than light beer. Indeed, as federal agencies acknowledge alcohol’s key role in deadly illnesses and domestic violence, their latest anti-pot fear mongering is an ad campaign insisting — I kid you not — that marijuana is dangerous because it makes people zone out on their couches and diminishes video-gaming skills.

(This is your government on drugs: Cirrhosis and angry tank-topped lushes beating their wives are more acceptable risks than stoners sitting in their basements ineptly playing “Halo.” … Any questions?) […]

The truth? Prohibition fails. Always. It creates a violent black market for that which is prohibited. Telling someone they can’t have something, no matter what, simply makes that thing more desirable.

Quote for the Day

2 Apr

I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain.

Glenn Greenwald gets it right, almost.

24 Mar

A major difference between conservatives and progressives

The Right marched in uncritical, creepy devotion to Bush for the first six years of his presidency. The Left has been leading the way in criticizing Obama when warranted.

I have been less than happy with a number of decisions to come out of the Obama administration. Glenn has a good laundry list of those very decisions, but the one he missed is the Obama approach to health care.

The Obama plan simply doesn’t go far enough. What does? Continue reading

Glenn Greenwald on public reaction to AIG bonuses

The virtues of public anger and the need for more

We are not suffering from an excess of citizen outrage, but rather, from a lack of it

Greenwald makes a strong case for our need to be angry at the clear oligarchy our nation has become.
