This past Thursday afternoon I received vaccine for RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus). RSV is a respiratory virus that for most people is mild and causes cold-like symptoms. For older people, though, it can be more serious. More about the virus at the link.

13 DecI spoke to my cardiologist a little while ago about the results of my cardiac CT on Monday. He’s concerned mostly, as far as those results, about enlargement of the aortic artery, and also some fairly significant calcification (stenosis) of the aortic valve. He has ordered an additional test regarding those conditions.

29 Nov
As I mentioned in an earlier post, I’ve been wearing a heart monitor since 6-November, and will continue to do so until 6-December. I’ve not heard anything new from the cardiologist since that call telling me it had recorded an instance of atrial fibrillation.
Continue readingCardiac Diagnosis Update
17 NovI received a call from the cardiologist this morning. The heart monitor recorded an event two days ago in the evening. The doctor told me that the event included both atrial fibrillation and atrial flutter. So, it’s official. I have a diagnosis. Not something I wanted, but it’s better to know.

7 NovI’ve been waiting for over four months to see a cardiologist as recommended by my primary care physician in late July of this year. Today was that day. Those indications included the AFib readings I’ve written about before, as well as some very low (30 BPM) and very high (159) heart rates.
Continue readingQuick update regarding the AFib scare
26 OctI heard from the cardiologist that I haven’t seen yet. He reviewed the records I sent, and doesn’t think it was actually #AFib, so that is good news.
Maybe I can calm the panic attack that was building, and actually get some rest.
AFib?
26 OctI was sweeping and vacuuming the downstairs around 1pm today, and my chest started pounding. I was dizzy, short of breath, and overcome by fatigue.
Continue readingTwo Vaccines at One Go
26 OctYesterday, I went down to the local pharmacy, at 4pm, to get the current flu vaccine, and a Covid booster (Pfizer). Like with the Shingrix vaccine, the injections themselves were not a particularly big deal.
Continue readingHRT / Endocrinology Followup
23 OctI saw my endocrinologist this morning, in person, for the first time since the pandemic started. We’d been in touch via telemedicine / patient portal messaging, but it’s always nice to have that personal touch occasionally. His location is inconvenient, and he only sees patients on Monday mornings. He is absolutely worth the hassle.
