I am cautiously hopeful that after today, there will be nothing interesting left to say about the surgical complications. These involved the past almost three weeks.
To summarize: The most significant post op complication I had was on the evening of the surgery. That one could have actually been dangerous. It was resolved that evening / early into the next morning. It cascaded from there. I won’t go through it all again.
I’m tapering down the prednisone. The last thing I want is a return of the condition for which it was prescribed. The last dose of that will be Friday. The cramps caused by the prednisone are getting better. They are less severe and less frequent. These are all good things.
I will reiterate my overall opinion of this. As a spoonie, I experienced many problems during recovery. Most folks would almost certainly have not had any of those issues. Still, this was the best thing I have done for my mental health. It’s second only to my initial decision to transition in the first place.
The journey continues, with me feeling so much more me.
More you is good, and we thank you for more you. Kinda trying to be funny along with supportive.

I have to say, there are a lot of people in this who would apparently prefer less “me.” I appreciate you and your sense of humor. Thanks Ali! 😘
