Hi Janet. I love them. The look of them on your face is grand! Ron and I used to have an eye doctor in a private practice and every two years I needed new glasses, like the rest of me my eyes are losing their functionality. But this last time he had sold his practice to a big firm, and I hated the glasses I got. The prescription was not quite right which he told me had to do to improve my closer vision. They had a deal, get the exam free, get two new frames with one being the full package and one being just the prescription. But the main glasses were far too heavy and large for my face, causing sores. When I went back to ask for new frames … the company was gone.

We went to a well advertising company and they wanted 1,400 dollars for one pair of glasses. Plus they were pushing my husband into getting cataract surgery and telling me next year I should have it. Why? Because after age 62 the US government pays for all but extra certain corrective lenses. I was shocked. What we decided to do is find a local small outfit to get glasses from. We plan to go on my birthday or around then. I hope we like this. Hugs. Scottie

Thanks Scottie. I’m sorry you’ve had bad outcomes with eyewear.
This seems to be a relatively small chain. I’d never heard of them before moving here. Most importantly, everyone involved was affirming. They were all also female. That’s been a common thread in my life. Women are generally affirming, as are gay men. Cis, white, straight men? That’s a crap-shoot, for me at least.

What a beautiful photo, and I love the glasses, too. You look so happy!

I wore lined bifocals for several years; I’d been advised by an older friend that it made using the different strengths easier if there was a line. I guess it worked; when I got progressives, I had no trouble, and the zone of poorer vision I had reading on my computer vanished. I used to do the “more power” nod a lot with the lined bifocals. Anyway, enjoy the new specs! It’s fun to get new stuff like that.

Yes, I am very happy with the glasses. I think I look cute in them. 😊 I went a little wild and crazy with the frames, but I believe the risk worked out.

I had basically stopped wearing my glasses at all. The bifocals were just that inconvenient.

      Thanks for the compliment. 😘
