A few days ago (October 23rd) I posted about my HRT / Endocrinologist visit. I was excited, both because I was going to be getting estrogen patches, and that I’d been told I would be paying zero copay.
This morning, that excitement evaporated, at least for a while. I was notified that my order was on hold, because of the medication being out of stock. The pharmacy’s website, however, said the order was being processed. It’s a mail order pharmacy, so I called their customer support. I was informed that they were in the process of changing suppliers, and that it should be back in stock on Monday. As a result, though, my current order was cancelled.
As if that’s not enough, I was seriously misled about the copay. The actual copay for a 12 week supply is $182.52. Ouch. That’s a tough pill to swallow (pun intended).
I call back on Monday to place a new order, and to authorize the copay. The good news in that was that the pharmacy has what they call an “easy pay” plan where they bill one month at a time, for the 3 month supply. Just divide the total by 3, and that’s what I pay each month.
So come Monday, I will make that call, set all that up, and authorize the copay. Ugh. Hopefully there won’t be any more surprises. It will likely be Friday, or next Saturday now, before I get the patches, but I have enough pills for two weeks, so other than the disappointment, and the out of pocket cost I didn’t need, I will be okay.
Doncha just hate that limbo-feeling between the automated info and the dealing-with-it-on-the-phone? Sheesh. It doesn’t get easier the older we get! 😉

I absolutely do. And honestly, I hate having to deal with customer service. I almost always feel like I’m getting the run-around. 🤷♀️

Just finished with the call, and all in all, it wasn’t bad. The order is active, and the payment plan is in place. 👍
