Fun with new computer
26 MayLast week, I bought a new computer for myself / work. I was using a borrowed, older AMD system, which struggled under the load of what I use a computer to accomplish. Yesterday, I undertook to set up that computer.

10 DecI use a really old Windows computer, both for work and personal use. Until today, that computer was booting (Windows 10) from an 80 GB hard drive. That hard drive has been with me through at least three desktop computers. Yes, there is (in my opinion) a good reason to do that.

24 FebA little while ago, I joined the élite ranks of those few who have literally debugged a system. It seems that the garage door here wouldn’t close properly. From the symptoms, I knew it was a problem with the infrared detector system believing something was in the doorway. After some testing, I was able to confirm my diagnosis.
