Today has been rough already, and it’s early afternoon. I didn’t sleep well. I was in bed from about 10pm until 7am. My sleep score (Samsung Health) was only 70. So barely a “C”, as it were.
Around 10:30am, I ended up lying back down for a couple of hours. Right before then, I got a text telling me my new eyeglasses were ready for pickup. No, I don’t have the spoons to do that today. The shop is closing early for the holiday and doesn’t open again until Tuesday morning.
Next Thursday, I have a colonoscopy (long overdue) scheduled for midday. So Wednesday I will be doing the (oh so fun) prep and clear liquid diet. I won’t even pretend I am looking forward to that.
The journey continues.
While I like the sleep score, I’m finding the Energy score more difficult to feel good about. I vary my exercise and it keeps telling me I’m doing too much but it’s just walking. Sigh.
Aging sucks.

“Energy score?”I don’t seem to have that category on my version. I have a Samsung Watch 4. Maybe that’s a hardware difference?
I have added another app that I started using recently. It supposedly measures Heart Rate Variability (HRV). That one does measure “Energy”. As a spoonie, my energy rating is 30-40% pretty consistently. I’m not really certain how I feel about this HRV measurement and analysis. 🤷♀️

I updated my galaxy watch and it has a new sensor. Samsung health now gives me an AGE index – metabolic health. Even my watch is telling me to eat more colourful veg 😄 I get an energy score based on sleep and activity levels.

Mine says it is up-to-date. Last update was in May. It may be too old for that new sensor.

I got the Watch 7 because of the new sensor.

Ah. I’ve had the Watch 4 for a couple of years. And it was a gift, so I didn’t pay for it. An acquaintance bought it, didn’t like it, and replaced it with Fitbit.

I originally thought you meant you had updated software.

I’ve ordered the Watch 7. Samsung had a trade-in offer. $200 is a really good discount.

I wear a fitbit. I call her Fitwitch, some days. I never sleep with it on, though. If I did, I’d never get to sleep-I’d keep checking the heart rate! It already gives me a lot to obsess over, but it doesn’t ever discourage me doing anything, no matter how many minutes, how much cardio, how many steps. I am pretty active, and thankful to be able!, but sometimes I wish I could have a watch that would be a watch, a pedometer, and tell me the active heart rate when it knows I’m moving longer than 10 minutes, without storing the data. Ah, well.
Also, Janet, I’m sorry about today, as well as next Wed. and Thurs. I guess it is just what we do, though.

Indeed. Just keep moving forward.
As as for next week: Well let’s just say it’s been too long. Now that I have decent medical coverage (a Medicare plan), and don’t have to pay out of pocket, I need to get this done.
Colon cancer took my mother several years younger than I am now. And my last two exams had polyps that had to be removed. So … No more delaying it.

That makes good sense, Janet!
