Since my last post, there have been a few changes.
My colonoscopy is scheduled. It’s out in early September, but at least it’s on the schedule. I have a time for the ILR implant. It’s scheduled to occur at 10am on 30-April. The previously mentioned thyroid nodules have been ruled out by the ultrasound, and determined to actually be “heterogeneous thyroid.” This is suggestive of autoimmune thyroiditis, but the hormone levels in the blood work are all in the “normal range,” so that’s still to be determined.
I’ve recently acquired a medical ID tag. I found one that links to a profile online that can provide full details of my health conditions, rather than having to limit myself to short text engraved on an ID. I selected a tag that I can slip onto my watch band, so it’s always there.
Any first responder (or good Samaritan) can scan the QR code on the tag, find out my major issues, and notify my emergency contacts as appropriate. All the medical data, including current doctors, conditions, and medications, are updateable by me via app / website. The solution I chose is from MyID. No, I am not getting anything for linking to the site.
The big news for this report? I’m to start taking a blood thinner because of the AFib and associated risk factors for stroke. Specifically, I’ve been recommended Xarelto. And yes, I already cleared that with the doctor performing my ILR implant procedure. Since that procedure is just a minor incision in the skin, there’s no particular worry about bleeding.
As always, thanks for reading this far.
I just saw this video, and thought of you, wanting you to have it. I hope all is well by you, and that your May Day has been bright.

Thank you dear Ali. “How I love being a woman” is so appropriate! 🥰
All is going well. I’m taking it easy recovering from my surgery. No lifting anything over 10 lbs, or strenuous exercise for a couple of weeks. But the surgery itself was pretty much a non-event, other than spending most of the day yesterday in a hospital bed waiting for the procedure. 💜
