In case you have no idea what that title is about, read this first, then come back here. Now that you are caught up, here’s the update. I left the state. I still won’t say where I am, for reasons of personal safety.
My roommate bonded out of jail at 11:30pm on the night before my flight left Atlanta. I found that out around 4am the next morning, when I happened to see the email from the victim notification service. I never did get the anticipated text message. I had originally planned to go to the airport around noon. In light of the change in that status, I moved my plans forward.
So I spent the better part of that day hanging out at the gate in the airport. I arrived at my destination late that evening. All in all, the trip was uneventful. I received a warm welcome, and am safe and comfortable. If you noticed I am being a bit sparse in details, that is intentional. The less I put out into the ‘verse, the fewer clues the abuser has to find me.
To everyone who saw that GoFundMe: I am significantly recovered from that photo. I’ve been told it may be 4-6 weeks before the black eyes fade away completely. If you contributed to that GFM, you have my deepest love and gratitude. You very likely helped to save my life. Blessed Be.
So glad you are in a better place. Stay safe. And keep back as much info as needed for your safety.

Probably a poor place to put this, but I want to wish you a good Galentine’s Day, Janet! I’m glad you’re taking good care of you, and I hope you can enjoy the day at least a bit.

Thank you dear. I am taking care of me. I am starting therapy today. Step 1 in recovery was escape. Step 2 is talking about what happened. 💜
