This past Thursday afternoon I received vaccine for RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus). RSV is a respiratory virus that for most people is mild and causes cold-like symptoms. For older people, though, it can be more serious. More about the virus at the link.
Yesterday was a busy day for me, but more about that in another post. By the end of the day, I was feeling worn out. I assumed it was just my fibro flaring up again, until last evening when I started feeling feverish. I had gone to bed early already because of how I was feeling. I woke up about 2am this morning stuffy and congested. I took a dose of DayQuil, mainly because I didn’t have any NyQuil.
So yes, I had the typical effects from the vaccine. I’m feeling better this morning. Still slightly feverish and a bit weak, but not so congested. Of course, that means my immune system is doing its job, and will recognize RSV should I encounter it.
Hooray vaccines!
