Texas Governor’s Race

27 Oct

Strayhorn has, in the past (just a couple of years ago) decided she had the right to determine what was and was not a religion. She rejected a Texas UU group’s application for tax-exempt status because the UU

“does not have one system of belief.” Questions about the issue were referred to Jesse Ancira, the comptroller’s top lawyer, who said Strayhorn has applied a consistent standard – and then stuck to it. For any organization to qualify as a religion, members must have “simply a belief in God, or gods, or a higher power,” he said.

That’s enough for me. State deciding what is religion? No thanks. BTW: She also rejected at least one Wiccan group’s application as well. (FWIW: The decision against the UU church was later rescinded. Doesn’t change my objection to her.)

It’s Bell for me. He has the momentum, and can defeat Good-Hair. Kinky is a nut-case, and a racist. Nuff said.
