The Guantánamo Bay prisoner of war camp is a disgrace to all Americans. In a recent report, Amnesty International referred to Guantánamo as the “gulag of our times.” Even Thomas Friedman, columnist for the New York Times, is now calling on President Bush to tear down the prison.
As Friedman wrote, “Guantánamo Bay is becoming the anti-Statue of Liberty.”
